To set up job accounting for the HP machines, the HP universal driver must be used. The standard driver does not currently support job accounting.
Once the universal driver has been loaded, you must first enable the ability to use job accounting in the driver.
Open the printer properties, and click on “Device Settings”

Scroll down and select “Job Accounting”, and enable it.
Click “OK” to apply the changes and close the properties window.

Open the driver “Preferences” and select the “Job Accounting” tab.
Under “Accounting Type” select “User Access Code only”
Check “Always Prompt when printing”
Then click OK to apply changes and close the window.

Now when a user prints with this driver, it will prompt for a access code.
